Advertising Update : Mobile, Video, Ad Injection, Yahoo, Facebook, Google and ad madness!

Here we are at the end of 2015 and it looks like mobile devices are taking over, but advertising is getting more and more difficult. Since the ad industry shot itself in the foot, I've been preaching and warning about this for over a decade. The advertising purveyence industry has a dirty secret: they're screwing the publishers AND the advertisers! But don't take my word for it . . .

Artboard Drawing App Update: Photos, Performance, Usability Enhancements

I've told you about Mapdiva before. It's a very cool new program, and now it's been upgraded! Artboard 1.9.8 vector drawing software, features support for Apple's new Photos app, a critical performance update, and several usability enhancements. Artboard is an affordable vector drawing program that is simple to use to get you going fast, yet powerful enough to meet your everyday drawing needs. Broad support is available on the Mapdiva website, with a selection of vector tutorials, getting-started videos, and a free downloadable trial.

Monochrome batches color images to grayscale

If you haven't seen Monochrome 3.0.1 for OS X, you should. This is an application for converting batches of color images to grayscale. Monochrome gives you control over the conversion process and applied effects, so you can create a consistent set of output images.

Share your thoughts...

So the holidays are upon us and you know the end of 2015 is drawing near. In 2016, we will have passed the quarter century online marker. Some people say that 25 years is impossible in technology. Well, it's not.

Please share your comments on any cool stuff you've discovered and learned during the year. Turnout was very poor for this month's discussion topic, so you'll notice there are no 'designer comments' in the Creative-networking area -- we're sorry to report. Remember that readers love to hear the comments, suggestions and discoveries of other readers.

Well, once again you've already wasted a perfectly good hour reading the DTG newsletter. Hopefully all is not wasted and you've gained at least one helpful tidbit of info.

Thanks for reading... go forth and be creative!
