6 Common Mistakes in Logo Design

Just around every corner, there's another logo design article. Seems everyone in the industry these days is a logo design expret -- but hey, there can never be too many, and these concepts have been in circulation for the better part of a half century...
The logo is arguably the most important aspect of any brand to get right. It’s intended to show the personality of a brand and instantly convey what the company does at a glance. Logos shouldn’t ever be difficult to figure out, or it’s pretty pointless having one – unless perhaps your target audience loves puzzles and the company makes them. Even then, a logo should tell the story of a brand in such a way that it’s clear, non-patronising and instant.

Translating print skills to Web design

creative design space

Today, many print designers are finding themselves marginalized as budgets shift to online advertising and video.
That is not to suggest that print design is dead or that its audiences is waning, but rather that the budgets and companies that leverage print in advertising and marketing are shrinking. As a result, many print designers are finding themselves having to offer at least some web design services to stay relevant and keep a steady workload (or find employment). As with any profession where you have a concentrated specialty, shifting gears can be very difficult. However, in the case of design thankfully many of the skills are transferable from one medium or media to another.
