More type problemsprinting with off-market printers The Question:
Printing looks bad:
When I use lettering in 5.5 to make flyers, all looks good. But when I print on a LaserJet 5L (HP) the letters or numbers look too digitized or kind of not solid is what I'm trying to say. Any advice? Thanks. | Our reply to a question sent in by: Lowell
- First, the HP is not supporting Postscript properly, or you've used a TT font which is corrupted or not supported by the printer, or, the printer is running out of memory before rendering the type.
Work up-sized, then RASTER the type prior to printing.
Build the "ART" of the flyer in Photoshop, but then switch to a DTP program, or a 'Vector' program like Adobe Illustrator to merge in the text and type.
Sidenote: Photoshop is NOT the best program for creating complete brochures and flyers. Version 5.5 particularly doesn't handle type as well as versions 6 or 7.
