Photoshop "Zen of the Pen" pen tool tutorials
- Al Mackey's Photoshop Tutorial
This tutorial teaches you how to use the pen tool to ink a drawing. With the pen tool active, you click on one of the three icons for making paths (the middle icon) up in the options bar. Clicking and dragging to set the direction. of the lines. The direct selector tool is then used to adjust the path of lines. Once it's adjusted correctly. The Stroke path inks along the created path. Once this is done, the path can be deleted. A tip is added at the end: smaller lines are better off being handdrawn. - Grasping the Path and Pen Tools
This site offers a great instruction for the use of the pen tool. It did though lack a sense of visual follow steps. It had some steps that help you see but not alot of step by step pictures. The pen tool does help out the objection of croping out forms from pictures. The best part of the cite was the final step process where it breaks it down for an easy directional use of the pen tool. - The Gfx Lab Photoshop Tutorials
This site is a photoshop tutorial about the pen tool. It assumes you have already SOME familiarity with photoshop, and maybe the pen tool. In this site the demonstration is putting flames on the side of a photographed car. It teaches you little tricks on how to get an effect like this and how to make it look perfect. It goes over how to use the pen tool to make shapes like this, and how to adjust it. Overall, I didn't learn that much, but it was good to see another example of the pen tool being used, and refresh my memory. This is a cute little site run by Inside Graphics that does exactly what the title states. (Photoshop basic photo retouching tutorials, tips and tricks). - Adobe Illustrator WOW- Zen of the Pen
This page has a free tutorial on the zen of the pen for photoshop, illustrator and more. It seems like a pretty good resource for turtorials, not only because it walked you through the steps but also because it has a little movie clip that is helpful too. Sharon Steuer is the instructor of this site and is also the author of many of the Illustrator Wow books. This was link off of the DTG Magazine, The Design and Publishing Center site which has more helpful links regarding photoshop and illustrator resources. - Adobe Photoshop 7: Pen Tool with Shape Layers : Part One
This site helps to use the Pen Tool just on a "new-user" tutorial level. There are different types of pens to choose from and it very confusing for a beginning such as myself. Each function plays a significant role such as click and dragging the anchor point on a selected image. A lot of the pen tool functions have to do with reshaping and modifying images to become completely new images. Because the pen tool uses vector points, it is easy to use after a while and there are benefits to using the pen tool rather than selections. - Paint Shop Pro 7 Vectors and Effects
For some reason i am very drawn to the tutorials that are step-by-step. Vectors seem so simple, but in fact so many things can be created from them. The website was set up with a final project is given and then the steps help you achieve it. Things like gradients and other settings were used. Altering and reflections were also used. Overall i liked vikki's tutorial! Departments/Topics: Photoshop Tutorial Report and -- Site content author: Vikki Dawson. This link was submitted by: Greene, posted on 9/28/2003

- Image Retouching
This is a great site that is very informing of exactly how to go through with image or photo retouching. They have great pictures that show all the contrasts and differences that they describe. They go into shading and gamma and other things. There are also pitures of the dialog boxes that show how to adjust the settings and so on. I really enjoyed finding out about photo retouching from this site. Departments/Topics: Photoshop Tutorial Report and -- Site content author: Gary David Bouton. - Photoshop, Photo Retouching
This lessong was cool because it featured how to fix or retouch a picture by adjusting the brightness and contrast, hue and saturation, while introducing the use of the rubber stamp tool as well. This tool is not something I was entirely sure of its use, though became evident by the end. Departments/Topics: Photoshop Tutorial Report and -- Site content author: Tiem Design Magazine. - Taters
This site showed how to retouch a photograph using Photoshop 6-7. The tutorial explained that by using new adjustment layers and patching and healing photos, you can make them look clearer and cleaner all by changing and manupulating colors and contrasts. The use of the patch tool and the healing tool become very important when changing the presentation of the photograph, because they tweak the appearance and better the project.
