- Masks: Paths
I just want to begin by saying it is difficult to find a site with what we are looking for. Most of the sites I found were ads to taking an Illustrator lesson or it was a syllabus for a college course. This page doesnt have much but it explained what stroking and filling were and how they apply to paths. For example, the stroke width can be set from the dialogue box. Also, filling in a foreground is the same to filling in with a pattern simply by using the palette menu. Stroking is much more difficult than filling so there are many tools to use for those who arent experts with the mouse. As far as dots and dashes are concerned, they can be created with the path box and typing in and adjusting the values. - Illustrator How-To: Create Surreal Flowers
This site shows how to make a flower. Whether you are printing or creating for a web site, you select the appropriate color mode (CMYK or RGB). Then go to your swatch libraries and select the earthtones, harmonies and pastels palettes. Next get the spiral tool and make two different sized spirals, adjusting the stroke weight and no fill. Get the blend tool and with the two selected colors, click on the spirals. A gradient blend will automatically fill the two spirals. Create leaves using the arc tool. Assemble all the parts together.
