About the Design & Publishing Center:
The Design & Publishing Center has been a community resouce on the web since 1994, featuring graphic design, photography, typography, illustration and imformation for designers, graphic artists, creative directors and anyone involved in desktop publishing, design, art, illustration or other visual communications fields. Today, it is still one of the very few portal sites for design and publishing that remains spam-free, with the highest
content to noise ratio in the industry. The NEWS department includes reviews, news and interviews as well as a monthly Newsletter - read this first for what's new. DT&G Magazine features reviews, tips, and graphicstips and tricks. The most popular section is the Letters@ column where readers ask question, and we do our best to provide the answers. The second most popular department is the Photoshop Tips & Tricks - with tutorials, and online seminars for users of Adobe Photoshop. This was the second site on the web to delve into the depths of Adobe Photoshop and its use... however we concentrate more on the "why" of Photoshop crafting than the "how." Also very popular is our Web Design & Review - department where web designers get design tips, reviews, and makeovers of web sites big and small. A special section is where web designers, page-crafters and pixelsmiths get to request a Web Design review of their own web site. It's YOUR opportunity to get your website reviewed. We also invite you to REVIEW a website and share your opinions of readers' web work. The Type department offers lots of tips and advice on using type, fonts and typography in your designs. There's even some selected fonts you can download, and examples of lots of fonts in use. The Designers' Bookshelf brings you recommended reading for everyone involved in the visual fields, with special selections on Photoshop, Adobe Pagemaker, Adobe Go-Live, Image Ready, CorelDraw, Quark XPress, 3D graphics, and more. We feature books from IDG, Peachpit, New Riders, Hayden, Macmillian, AP Professionals, and others. The & FOTOgraphic department deals with photography and digital imaging, and is hosted by Doug Clifford of the Ace Camera Index Here you'll find info and creative ideas for using digital cameras, in-house photography, and more. The Design Center Gallery features images from Design Center readers in their own Gallery Shows. The Creative Networking center is where you sign the guest book, subscribe to the newsletter, subscribe to Designers' Cafe our in-site email listserv and get a chance to win goodies like software and books from the Designers' Bookshelf.

Affiliates of The Design & Publishing Center include . . . 60-Second Window - with more than 112 months online -- and its own website -- offers editorials covering related issues... where the editor always writes with a sting and invites readers to rant, rage, bitch, complain or compliment. It's fun and informative! The Industry Insider brings "LA's Golden Girl of Design, " D'Lynn Waldron with her broad background and expertise to the editorial mix with reviews and in-depth articles relating to desktop publishing. The Publishers' Warehouse is the download center of the Design Center. It began in 1987 with a printed catalog and more than 200 disks of freeware, shareware, and tryware. At one time this was one of the largest collections of graphics, clip art, scans, and fonts in the industry. This is where you download the goodies that accompany editorial content from Graphic-design.com. The DTP Jumpstation features resources and researched links for desktop publishers. This department has been around since 1994, and then spun off its own Desktop Publishing Jumpstation in 1998. These join our other Affiliates: the News Serve Network, the news center syndicate servicing dozens of websites, and the User Group Network for computer user clubs all around the world. This growing community portal also keeps its ties with people through The User Group Academy and The User Group Academy Awards with educational awards programs for nonprofit organizations.
