Can you picture happening upon this piece of typography while driving down a country road!

Fort Defiance sophmores have the type touch...

This one from the Fort Defiance (Virginia) High School’s class of 2002 caught our attention as a rather spectacular bit of “controlled” graffiti.
... Each year the classes get to repaint this wall along the street to their school. The 2002 reversed in white, and the blue field make the perfect anchor for the ‘halftone’ area in the background -- which is actually the names of each student in the class.
Although no one really can quite report on who came up with the concept, this is an excellent example of highly readable, environmental typography.

Bravo, fun type!
