Is Social Media Advertising or PR?

PR excels at messaging, but advertising focuses on results. So where does that leave your social media marketing? Who manages your company’s social media?

Social media users say Pinterest is as popular as Twitter

While Facebook reigns supreme in the social media landscape, the latest study by Pew shows users are pinning just as much as they’re tweeting.
Twitter attracted 16% of social media users, followed by 15% on Pinterest in 2012. Everyone’s favorite pastime is still Facebook, though, raking in a majority of respondents’ votes. Tumblr comes in as the least popular with only 6% of people on the site.

Take advantage of Facebook’s new cover photo rules

Facebook launched Timeline in February 2012, and ever since then it has had strict rules for business pages and their cover photos. But times have changed, and now business owners can (almost) forget those rules.

The Unbreakable Rules of Video

We all have our favorite online videos, whether you’re partial to kids doing the latest dance craze, cat bloopers, or unbelievable basketball shots. Tweeting your way to a successful industry blog

In order for your company to really use digital communications to the fullest, you’ve simply got to have an industry blog. A company blog allows you to do many things: It’s your chance to strut your stuff, show off, discuss industry news and have your voice heard. Your company blog is totally in your control, there are no character limits and no restrictions as to what you can talk about.
Blogging also allows your company to establish itself as an expert in the field. At Garden Media Group, we have two areas of expertise: public relations and gardening. To have our voice heard in each niche industry, we have two blogs, which allows us to double our audience, SEO keywords and content. While we don’t recommend having two blogs, it is important to create a niche and stick to it. But what if your blog is stellar and no one’s reading it? The whole purpose of a company blog is to reach your key audience, and if that’s not happening, your company should make a few changes.
