A Pictorial tour through fashions of the 20th Century

As we embark on this year's "Women's History Month" someone mentioned that fashion plays a huge role in societal development -- and that some of the world's most beloved fashion designers are women! So we pulled from the Design-bookshelf's playbook and opened these books that follow a bit of the path of fashion. In 2008 it was Luba Lukova; in 2010 it was Jessica Hische; ten years ago it was Nena Anderson -- there are many others, and they all have one thing in common. Beside their extraordinary talent they share a unique perspective of vision along with an entrepreneurial spirit that takes them to the top of their field! The movie "The Terminator" starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, was probably the first to really bring the concept of the cyborg to the forefront. There had been others, but none really as compelling as that famous series. The movie's creator James Cameron probably never suspected that his film in 1984 would spawn a generation of cyborg fans -- still very much alive 30 years later! February 2, 2015

We believe, vintage images evolk memories of by-gone days. Mostly created in the Victorian era, these collections illustrate high talent in simpler times -- when artists could afford to spend the time for such art.
