Obama 2012? Now with More Serifs
The Obama campaign’s new Gotham font, which has serifs that its 2008 version didn’t.

The Story Behind Zapf Chancery
The ITC Zapf Chancery typeface has been seen by just about everyone who uses a personal computer. In particular, one member of the family – Medium Italic – has been selected (or not) by millions of designers and non-designers alike. In the mid-’80s, ITC Zapf Chancery Medium Italic was chosen as one of the original Apple LaserWriter core font set. Years later, it became part of both the Mac and Windows OS.
It has become one of the most commonly used – and one of the most widely misused – typefaces of our day.
Design student memorium mural
A graffiti memorial with the words “come home Rhyan” has been painted on an inner-city wall as a tribute to graphic design student who recently died.
Designer / Graffiti artist, Kairau Bradley, also has an art exhibition running until May 29. It is called Girls Are Pretty Cool Too and it is on at the Long Black Cafe, building 1, gate 1, Unitec Mt Albert.
Best Art Degrees
There are a tremendous number of art colleges to choose from, but sometimes deciding on a school can be a timely and difficult choice.
There is no use spending 80 thousand on a degree if there isn’t a market for that specific skill. Tuition prices can be high at some art schools, and it’s not certain that a fine arts degree will return the financial investment that it takes to obtain such a degree.
Razzle Dazzle
You may wonder who does those killer titles on the trendy sports shows on TV. Well, it could be Mike Campau and the wizards at Seventh Street Studio
