Rare photographic situations
Lovis Dengler Ostenrik, from New York, creates some spectacular imagery with subjects and shadows. Now, the main thing here is how something very familiar looks very different and unfamiliar when viewed from a different point of view. The “another example” link below illustrates that so vividly! … be sure to click on the button to “show all gallery images” …. nice stuff!
Lettering Max Goldt’s L’Eglise des Crocodiles
Don’t miss this stunning video on the making of Frank Ortmann’s lettering for an album cover for the record Max Goldt – L’Eglise des Crocodiles. I love this video … could watch it again and again!
Innovation Lives on the Edge of Ridiculous Ideas
Imagine for a second if you could somehow wrap up the creative chaos of a kindergartner’s life and apply it at work. You’d go on field trips, make stuff, hatch crazy ideas, and be awed by the world on a daily basis. Sound ridiculous? At the renowned international design consultancy IDEO, it’s how work gets done every day.
Psychologists tell us that as we age, we become self-conscious in classroom and other public settings, and quietly begin to suppress our playful tendencies for fear of being childish or breaking with social norms. Creativity requires that we fight against this trajectory.
Designing Photographer’s Identity
A new identity for Oskar Kullander, a freelance photographer based in Stockholm.
A monogram, based on Oskar’s initials, with the ‘K’ placed within an abstracted ‘O’ mimicking the shape of a camera lens, became the base of the identity.
