FDA Adds Two New Mailing Lists
Special thanks to Pete Weiss from PSU.edu for sending in some interesting and important information about the Food and Drug Administration.
They've added some new mailing lists, and we thought it appropriate to add for our "Back to School" special this year.

New lists have been added to a free FDA e-mail subscription service that now includes 14 lists that cover foods, drugs, devices, and other FDA-related topics. The primary mailing list is the FDA News Digest, which purveys Current FDA activities, with links to press releases, talk papers, and more. __You should check out the master list and see if there are lists that address your interests: MedWatch "What's New"--Information about new items posted to MedWatch--FDA's voluntary system for reporting problems with products the agency regulates.
- FDA Consumer--A summary of and links to articles in the latest issue of FDA's magazine.
- FDA HIV/AIDS -- FDA HIV/AIDS related information including product approvals, significant labeling changes, safety warnings, notices of upcoming public meetings and alerts to proposed regulatory guidances for comment.
- Center for Drug Evaluation and Research--Daily or weekly notices of new additions to the CDER Website.
- Center for Devices and Radiological Health--Separate lists for CDRH news, medical device alerts, mammography, single-use devices, and CDRH TV broadcasts.
- Dietary Supplements/Food Labeling Electronic Newsletter -- information and updates on dietary supplements, food labeling and nutrition issues.
- Food Safety Electronic Information Networks--Lists for food safety educators and for other professionals interested in food safety issues.
- Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research--Lists for blood product recalls and other CBER information.
- Regulatory Research Perspectives: Impact on Public Health--This FDA/National Center for Toxicological Research quarterly journal provides a vehicle for FDA scientists to communicate research that impacts current or emerging regulatory issues to FDA and the global science community.
Other Government E-Mail Lists
- Department of Health and Human Services' "What's New at HHS"--A list offered in several different formats for keeping up to date with happenings at FDA's parent department.
- Food Science (Nutrition)--Lists for food science laws, nutritional epidemiology, HACCP, nutrition news, and other topics.
- Food Science (Biology)--Numerous lists on such topics as bioethics, plant cell wall biology, cancer biology, microbiology and molecular genetics, and seafood research.
- Food Science (Chemistry)--Lists on such topics as chemistry education, chemical engineering, atmospheric dispersion of chemicals, and medicinal chemistry.
They invite your comments or suggestions for new mailing lists.
