- Creative idea sources we've seen
- I always try to pick up some interesting idea starters, or creative idea sources to pass along each month, and this month we've got several ...
How about some Puppets? I ran across this entire site devoted to puppets. Their free Puppet Scripts could prove an invaluable source of ideas for ads, commercials, and other multimedia concepts. It's a huge archive and it's all free. http://www.puppetresources.com/   [top]
- Costumes in history
- Another real idea starter is the Timeline of Costume History. Visit this web site and follow through the years, the types of dress people wore in their times. You'll see some pretty amazing stuff.

- A must for anyone in advertising...
- This one is super, and should be among your bookmarks:
Advertising Age magazine has been the most read industry pub for a long, long time. This new addition to their web site, the "Century", examines all the ways in which advertising has entertained, moved and motivated us over the years. For idea starters check out: 100 best campaigns or 100 most influential people of the 20th century." http://adage.com/century/   [top]
- Speaking of advertising
- Just for laughs, try the "Retromedia" Web site where you can relive the classic television and commercials clips from the 60's, 70's and 80's. It's stronger than dirt -- and it's the taste that satisfies!

- Create harmonious color schemes
- Niels Lau of Abitom software has sent us the latest version (4.1) of Color Wheel Expert, a Windows XP/2000/Me/NT/98/95 color utility, and it looks pretty cool.
Based on the color wheel and color harmony theory, Color Wheel Expert enables users to select a color, and then have 12 harmonious colors displayed on a color wheel. With Color Wheel Expert, it's easy to find analogous colors, triads colors, complements colors and split-complements colors. You can create harmonious color schemes to use in website or working object -- best of all, you can can save their scheme for future use. Color Wheel Expert makes it easy to select colors from a 216-color web safe palette, and slider adjustments help you fine-tune the color selection, as well as pick colors from anywhere on the screen and make colors web safe. You can also convert color values with RGB, HSL, CMY, CMYK and YCbCr using sliders. The RGB Sliders can be locked so they move synchronously to quickly generate a range of tints or shades of the working color. You can copy color code to the clipboard in RGB, HTML, Delphi, C++, VB and Java format. Color Wheel Expert requires Windows XP/2000/Me/98/95/NT4 and it costs $19.95 (US).
