Keyboard Maestro OS X Manager
powerful productivity enhancer for Mac OS X
Stairways Software Pty Ltd has announced Keyboard Maestro 2.1, the new Universal Binary version of its powerful productivity enhancer for Mac OS X. This release adds native Intel Universal Binary support and resolves a number of minor issues.Using Keyboard Maestro's macros you can control applications, windows, or menus; insert text; open documents, applications or URLs; execute scripts; control the system, iTunes, or a PowerMate; and more, all with the touch of a key, click of the mouse, periodically or at specific times, or even when an application is launched, running or quits.
The Program Switcher lets you cycle through applications or windows, closing, hiding, launching, and more. Keyboard Maestro can help you regain control of your crowded screen by letting you close or hide multiple windows or applications, especially useful in the Finder.
The Clipboard Switcher lets you select from a number of named clipboards, storing information away for later retrieval. Store the details you are working with and access them by name again and again.
Keyboard Maestro was acquired by Stairways Software on 30 June 2004 and we have continued to build on the solid foundations that Michael Kamprath developed in Keyboard Maestro 1 and the initial 2.0 betas.
New in Keyboard Maestro 2.1:
* Native PowerPC and Intel Universal Binary.
* Remember applications when applications are relaunched.
* Keep the floating Palette on the screen.
* Support the F16 function key.
* Export Macros is enabled only if some macros are actually selected.
* Accept Forward Delete as a synonym for normal Delete in lists.
* Keyboard Maestro 2.1 requires Mac OS X 10.2 or greater.
Keyboard Maestro is US$20, and is licensed on a per workstation basis (individuals can choose to license it on a per user basis).
Keyboard Maestro 2.1 is a free upgrade to all Keyboard Maestro 2.x owners. Keyboard Maestro 2.x is a paid upgrade from previous versions. Customers who purchased Keyboard Maestro 1.x after 1 July 2004 have been issued a free upgrade to Keyboard Maestro 2.0.
A fully-functional unlicensed trial version of Keyboard Maestro can be downloaded.
