Is it September already? :-)
it's a long, long while from May to December
But the days grow short when you reach September
When the autumn weather turns the leaves to flame
One hasn't got time for the waiting game
Oh, the days dwindle down to a precious few
September, November
And these few precious days I'll spend with you

As the days get shorter
and the leaves begin turning various shades of crimson and gold, thoughts always
return to my childhood years spent at Maple Leaf Elementary School.
... Maple Leaf Elementary met its destiny a decade ago,
succumbing at the hands of developers and the wrecking ball to make way for chintzy,
tightly
compressed condominiums, an increasingly everyday occurrence in Seattle and elsewhere;
blasphemy to those of us who remember the 1950's as a great time to be growing up
in America.
... I have very few pictures left from my Wonder Years.
And no time machine to travel back and retake the lost or never taken photographs
of family, friends and important places along the road of life.
... Don't let this happen to you. Take those treasured
photographs while you can.
... Join the resurging interest Baby Boomers have shown
towards scrapbooking and keeping family photo albums. Learn about taking extra care
to store your negatives and prints using archivally safe materials.
