Nikon upps the ante with 3.34 Megapixel
Shattering industry records for digital imaging technology once again, Nikon today introduced the Coolpix 990, a new, top-of-the-line digital camera that packs an incredible 3.34 megapixels of resolution and a 3x Zoom-Nikkor lens into a sleek, eye-catching design.
__ Created for the serious photographer who values the quality and versatility that have made Nikon the camera of choice for professionals, with intuitive, easy-to-use features, the Coolpix 990 will hit retail shelves in April at an MSRP of $999.95.
__ The newest digital entrant allows users to create breathtaking images while achieving the ultimate in clarity and detail. Its 3.34 mexapixel CCD with true [non-interpolated] image resolution of 2048 x 1536 offers easy cropping and unsurpassed print quality. An incredible file size of almost 10MB lets users crop and print images that rival film in size.
__ With a new USB interface, downloading 2,048 x 1,536-pixel images rich in detail to a PC or Mac is lightning fast and easy. And at an unprecedented 2 frames per second full resolution image capture, there's virtually no delay between shots. In cases where ultra-high speed is paramount, the Coolpix 990 offers 320 x 240 QVGA resolution at a pulse- quickening 30 frames per second for up to 80 frames. Even still images can be brought to life with this versatile camera's new movie mode that shoots 40 seconds QVGA Motion-JPEG at 15 frames per second.
