The Landscape Version

Here's the landscape version. This is an uncropped full-frame shot. The store clerk wouldn't let me move the white sandwich board which uglifies the right edge (that's what image editors are for.) Also I don't like the vertical door frame cutting through the center.

The Portrait Version

Here's the portrait version of the same scene. Again this is a full-frame shot with no cropping.

Deciding which format is the better choice often comes down to a judgment call.

I think it's clear the vertical format suits this subject. I'm able to get rid of most of the distracting white sandwich board, include more of the colorful posters decorating the window, and move the vertical lines of the door frame well off center.

There's just one thing left to do.

Let's look at the final solution...
better photography means better shooting
