HDRI: In image processing, computer graphics, and photography, high dynamic range imaging (HDRI or just HDR) is a set of techniques that allows a greater dynamic range of luminances between light and dark areas of a scene than normal digital imaging techniques. The intention of HDRI is to accurately represent the wide range of intensity levels found in real scenes ranging from direct sunlight to shadows.

sIBL 2.0: sIBL is a short name for Smart Image Based lighting. In short, it’s a single click preset ready-made lightning solution to make very easy photorealistic renderings that works with most of the important 3D apps like: Lightwave, 3ds MAX, Maya, Modo and XSI.

What’s in the package?

  • Every sIBL set that is available in the online store contains:
  • 8k (8000 x 4000 pixels) spherical JPEG background
  • 4k (4000 x 2000 pixels) spherical HDR for reflection
  • Lowres lightmap ( 360 x 180 pixels) spherical blurred
  • Thumbnail JPG (128 x 128 pixels)
  • The sIBL document
  • Extra included – all 9 spherical renders (exposures) at JPG at 11K (11.700 X 5850 pixels)

Google map location of the shotsThese extra renders are all exposures that were made to generate the HDR. So you can make a bigger HDR at 11k by yourself if you need it. Or you even can exposure blend / enfuse the images. This means that you are very flexible in post production.
