Now it’s time to tie the chains, look at shiney objects, and just love for all those beautiful June brides — with a little Photoshop editing actions, of course! Follow along as Photoshop Madness picks the good stuff out of a sea of junk!
PHOTOSHOP MADNESS is where you practically go mad trying to find the most useful stuff for Photoshop! This is continued from the previous ‘actions’ madness — and now it’s time to tie the chains, go for June brides, and all things shiney!
As always, we remind you — be careful what you click. I’ve tried very hard this month to get just good, clean stuff for’ya. But there are always malware, phishing stalker and predator links abundant in many of the replicated sites these days. Whatch those little popups in the text. Just stay on the tutorial / content paths and you’ll be okay.
So, here are yet more links of note…
All those brides of Photoshop
Well with the wedding season upon us — time to check out some wedding enhancements:
Karl Sneath from Kansas brings you an action that is simple yet allows you to create several common portrait effects, and particularly wedding portraits. The set consists of 11 effects, plus an action with some brief instructions and pointers.

Alternative wedding photo manipulations
Well … from time to time you’ll need something completely outside the box… I think these could make some stunning pieces!
This one makes comic book style images — the Comics Photoshop action by someone named Jenny W. This one’s a lot of fun, and works well in all the versions of PSD we tried. It is copyrighted in the name of “mutato-nomine” and found on Deviant Art.
Retouch Actions – spring brides
Here are some more interesting Photoshop actions that can modify your photos this spring. They’re created by Julia Starr, and you can visit her digs at http://juliamstarr.blogspot.com/

Perfect Shine Button or Icon
These replicator sites never give credit to the creator, but we thought this was one of the better “shine” tutorials. This one is fairly clear and has a minimum of screen spam and stalker links . . from “Boonage”
As you can see, the results are pretty sweet.
Create a Metal Chain with Photoshop …
This is a huge tutorial by Jeff Olson that really gets into Photoshops Layer Styles work — and brings superb results! Jeff says
“… by the end you’ll not only have a damn sexy chain, but have learned some new techniques by thinking out of the box on how we assume things should work.”
Convert white to transparent
It’s impossible to guess how many times this problem has come up in the Photoshop 911 forums!
Zefhar has saved you all a crap-load of work with an action that lets you get rid of the white in drawings. It extracts your black outlines and leaves them surrounded by pure transparent nothingness!! This Action works only with FLATTENED images. RGB and Grayscale will do. Way to go Zefhar.
Tutorial : Green Logo
For the beginners, the PS Freak has created this tutorial called “Modern Green Logo”. While the “Green Logo” actually sucks as a logo design, there are some good tips here.
(Please don’t consider this a “logo design” tutorial!)
There are always lots of spectacular Photoshop images and visuals out there! Share them! We’ll be back shortly with MORE Photoshop Madness … and please — BE CAREFUL WHERE YOU SURF … but when you do find a great Photoshop practitioner, or a good Photoshop tutorial, please share it with us! If you create Photoshop Tutorials yourself, please post your info here so you can be considered for a Photoshop Fave!
Of course, some of our favorite editions of Photoshop Madness can be found in the legacy Photoshop Tips & Tricks web site!
