OH NO … time for some Photoshop Madness for text, type and lettering inspiration … and we found some good ones!

PHOTOSHOP MADNESS is where you practically go mad trying to find the most useful stuff for Photoshop!

Retro that's NOT retro!

Retro that’s NOT retro!

Why don’t most of today’s tutorial authors understand the definition of “Retro” … seems like they call everything “retro” — even when it isn’t. In this tutorial, author Sebastiano Guerriero explains how to easily create a 3d text and merge it into a retro-style scene. He uses Illustrator for the text, Cinema4D to make this text 3D and Photoshop for all others remaining steps.
CAUTION Scroll down, the tutorial is buried under some obnoxious ads… however, this is a blog, and is a nice departure from the typical shovelware tutorial site!

Create A Fragmented Tiles Text Effect In Photoshop

This is a long (7 pages) difficult to follow tutorial written by Steve Patterson on Photoshop Essentials site. From the example, you see it’s a pretty cool effect, using Photoshop’s Tiles filter.
CAUTION Be careful NOT to roll over those GREEN underscored words because they pop up some of the most rude spam I’ve seen. The site also employs misleading stalker links made to appear like they’re part of the tutorial … so just read the tutorial, and don’t click anything!

Metalic Spiderman Movie Type

Metalic Spiderman Movie Type

This fairly simple tutorial shows how to create some eye catching metallic text similar to the type used for the ‘Spiderman 3’ movie. The tutorial uses an earlier version of Photoshop — but the principles are the same. No author’s name given.

Here’s another of those “tumbling” 3D type effects … I think author Madalin Tudose must have followed some of those other tutorials. Having said that, this one is very nicely done, and offers a freshly stylish look! We liked it!
