Inspiring Illustrations in the Style of Alphonse Mucha

Mucha_Job_papers

In the spring of 2010 I invited my readers to send in pictures they've created mimicking the style of Alphonse Mucha

Four Seasons by Alphonse Mucha

It was the 20th Anniversary of the Design Center and DT&G Magazine, and the theme was "Art Nouveau" which means New Art (the direct translation from French). This movement was strongly influenced by Alphonse Mucha, the Czech artist whose decorative posters have become synonymous with the Art Nouveau movement. His art experienced a revival during the 1960s and early 1970s with the "hippy" movement. Mucha's stunning and symbolic artworks have become the priceless legacy and an endless inspiration for all generations of artists.

And, as they say :
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

To imitate someone is to pay the person a genuine compliment — often an unintended compliment. We urge you to discover the art an times of Alphonse Mucha and his 50 years of extraordinary art!

. . . and thanks for reading!
